Velveteen Dream to compete in huge Triple Threat match; Rhea Ripley's ex will be one of his opponents
A big Triple Threat match involving Velveteen Dream has just been announced. A Puerto Rican-based promotion, New Professional Wrestling made the announcement in a new Instagram post.
Dream was let go by WWE back in 2021. He returned to the squared circle earlier this year and has wrestled a bunch of matches since then.
Velveteen Dream is all set to compete in a Triple Threat match for the PRWA World Championship on December 14, 2024. The match also features Rhea Ripley's ex-boyfriend, Action Jackson, and independent wrestler Mark Davidson.
Velveteen Dream's apology video
Dream's wrestling career was marred by allegations of inappropriate contact with a minor. Earlier this year, he shared a lengthy video on Instagram and apologized to several people, including Triple H. Here's an excerpt from his comments:
“I want to apologize to the WWE and the fans,” he said. “I want to apologize to Paul Levesque. Paul, you are such an understanding, patient man and leader. Getting the opportunity to work with you and learn from you, I get the sense of what makes you who you are, and how you’ve been able to handle the responsibility of being in the public light for such a long time. I want to apologize to you, Paul, I’m sorry. Also, I want to say I’m sorry to Shawn Michaels." [H/T - WrestleZone]
Dream was one of the most promising young talents in all of WWE years ago. Many higher-ups and legends had high hopes for his future, including Triple H and John Cena. Unfortunately, it all went downhill for him in 2020-21 and it's highly unlikely that he will ever manage to return to WWE. One wonders where Dream would've been today if it hadn't been for the controversies that plagued his professional and personal life.
