Veteran believes legendary former WWE Universal Champion is currently being sidelined despite major tease involving Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes

It's evident Kevin Owens has not been able to digest the idea of Cody Rhodes teaming up with Roman Reigns at WWE Bad Blood. Tensions are pretty on the surface between both Owens and Rhodes, especially last week on SmackDown. The former has been a massive part of the entire Bloodline story over the years. However, a veteran now feels that WWE is not using the former Universal Champion to the fullest.

There have been rumors that Kevin Owens’ contract will expire soon. In the past few months, Owens has been engaged in taking down The Bloodline and has played a major role in the storyline over the years.

In a recent episode of the Jim Cornette Experience podcast, Cornette explained how he felt WWE was sidelining Owens from the storyline when he was such an integral part of it.

“He's being a smarta** about the whole thing being phony, as usual. He's got to be cute, and then he nails the Tongas. Everybody's in a situation where they can just beat both the Tongas up, but they got to fight even or sell for Jacob. But then, the Tongas will come from behind and stop the guy, and then here come Ciampa and Gargano, and they make a comeback on the Tongas,” he stated [2:18 to 2:50]

He further stated that WWE wasn’t presenting the former Universal Champion as an important star. He added that it felt like the story could live without Owens in it.

“But Owens just ducks Jacob, and he jumps over the top on his own, missing Owens and security comes in, and they decide a six-man tag for later on. Again, you know, they're getting something out of Owens, but it's not like he's being featured like we can't live without him,” he added [2:50 onwards]

Will Kevin Owens turn on Cody Rhodes?

Tensions between Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes are at an all-time high, thanks to The American Nightmare’s decision to team up with his long-time foe, Roman Reigns. Both men were engaged in a heated exchange of words last week before Randy Orton stepped in and sorted things out.

With heat developing between both men, Owens turning his back on the Undisputed WWE Champion seems possible. However, given the friendship and respect both men have for each other, a betrayal might not be in the cards. Fans will have to wait and see what happens when both Owens and Rhodes come face to face again.
