Veteran speaks out on Vince McMahon and the WWE Ring Boys scandal, says he "was there" (Exclusive)

It would appear that former WWE CEO Vince McMahon has no dearth of allegations against him at present. A particularly disturbing one, the Ring Boys scandal, garnered a comment from a veteran, who says he was present at the time the alleged incidents occurred.

According to a lawsuit filed against Vince, Linda McMahon, WWE, and TKO, the Stamford-based promotion had seemingly not been receptive enough to a problematic matter happening at the time. Five men have alleged that they were sexually abused when they worked as ring boys in the company. Their job was to set up the squared circle before the start of shows.

When asked about his thoughts on the matter on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine show hosted by Mac Davis, Bill Apter stated that despite knowing the alleged culprit the late Mel Phillips, and some of the rings boys who have come out with the allegations, he had no wind of anything that was happening at the time.

"No I don't. You know I knew Mel Phillips [the alleged culprit]. I knew a lot of the ring boys, but I never saw or knew anything that was going on back there," he said. [9:46 onwards]

He added that he was present at the promotion during the time of the alleged incidents and he had no idea of what could have been going on under wraps. He also felt that McMahon was busy running his promotion and such matters possibly went under the former CEO's radar.

"I was there during that alleged time, but if anything like that was going on, it was well-concealed. And I don't think it was something. [...] Hypothetically, I don't think it was like you know, McMahon are tring to run a show here. I don't think it was a main thing at all on their radar." he added. [10:16 onwards]

Bill Apter was not surprised to hear the latest rumors about the former WWE CEO

Recent reports have suggested that McMahon may be attempting to launch another entertainment-based company, and veteran wrestling journalist Bill Apter was not surprised.

Speaking on the same episode of The Wrestling Time Machine, Apter explained that he always felt that Vince McMahon was likely to try something new instead of sitting idle.

"He's an entrepreneur. I mean he, he can't sit still. He cannot sit still. 24/7 he was like this when he was with WWE and I had a feeling that he was gonna come up with something. Not to do with pro-wrestling, but he is an entertainment mogul," he said. [2:39 onwards]

As of now, WWE fans will simply have to wait and see what happens next in the Vince McMahon saga.
