Veteran on if Vince McMahon wants WWE to fail (Exclusive)
Vince McMahon is no longer associated with WWE after taking the company to great heights. While the 79-year-old's tenure with the company did not end on a good note, wrestling veteran Vince Russo does not believe that he wants to see the promotion fail.
Vince McMahon purchased WWF from his father in 1982. He expanded the company, making pro wrestling mainstream and taking it to a global audience. After nearly four decades, Vince had to step down as the CEO and Chairman of the promotion amid several allegations. While he returned for a brief time to facilitate the sale of the company to the Endeavor group, he ended up resigning from his position as Executive Chairman of TKO Holdings.
Given the manner of his exit, Vince Russo was asked on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW if Vince McMahon would want WWE to fail. The veteran, however, noted that he does not believe so as Mr. McMahon held his father in high regard and thus, would not wish the promotion harm as it all started with his father:
"I don’t think so because I know what Vince’s father meant to him. That’s why I think when Vince looks at this business, he is still looking at his father as being the founder. I don’t think Vince would want that." [From 1:06:33 onwards]
Aside from Vince McMahon, Stephanie and Shane McMahon are also no longer part of WWE. The company is owned by the Endeavor group, with Triple H being the Chief Content Officer.
