Vince McMahon was "hurt" by The Undertaker for "money exchange," says former WWE personality

WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker is a name that will always be synonymous with the Stamford-based promotion. However, there was something The Deadman did once that had "hurt" Vince McMahon, the man behind World Wrestling Entertainment's rise.

According to former WWE and ESPN personality Jonathan Coachman, The Undertaker considered doing a WrestleMania documentary for the company Onyx, which is partly owned by podcaster Joe Rogan. Although it did not materialize, Coachman suspects that money changed hands and because the Hall of Famer seriously considered going ahead with the project, Vince McMahon was affected by it.

Speaking on Behind The Turnbuckle, The Coach opened up about this story, stating that he'd never said it before. He admitted to being so loyal to the Stamford-based wrestling promotion at the time that when he found out about the issue through a video via email, he informed former WWE head of production, Kevin Dunn. Coachman noted that Dunn could not fathom The Undertaker doing this, and even did not believe him at first.

"I sent [the email] to Kevin Dunn and the WWE, and it never saw the light of day. What was told me when we went to WrestleMania after that was, Vince wasn't really p***ed, he was hurt that [the clips were] even shot, it was even done. So, I don't know what was done behind the scenes, but my guess is—there was some money exchanged so that they wouldn't sell it. Of course, right? Sometimes companies will pay somebody for something not to air," he said. [From 47:31 to 48:02]

The WrestleMania documentary, as mentioned by Jonathan Coachman, was for what would have been The Undertaker's final match on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

The Undertaker credits Paul Heyman for the change in Roman Reigns

At WrestleMania 33, The Undertaker was supposed to end his WWE in-ring career, as evident by the post-main event moment, where he left his hat, coat, and gloves in the middle of the ring. However, the match against Roman Reigns disappointed not only the fans but the legend himself. And so he decided to continue wrestling for another three more years.

Reigns is one of just two people who have scored a pinfall victory over The Deadman at The Show of Shows, an event where the Hall of Famer had a legendary undefeated streak lasting two decades at a point. Unfortunately, at the time, the monumental victory did not do much for Roman. The WWE Universe kept rejecting him and it arguably only got worse following his win over The Last Outlaw.

During a recent episode of his podcast Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway, The Undertaker praised Paul Heyman for helping the Samoan realize his full potential. Since the dawn of a new decade, The Tribal Chief has not only improved but The Wiseman was instrumental in his seismic rise in the company.
