Vince McMahon may have punished ex-female WWE star for refusing to make out with a female co-worker
Many WWE Superstars feared getting punished if they refused to follow Vince McMahon's orders. A former top female talent recently claimed that might have happened to her after declining not to make out with another female colleague.
The top talent in question is WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. The Diva of the Decade appeared on Netflix's new 'Mr. McMahon' docuseries, which was dropped on September 25. She recalled being asked to make out with a female coworker on television. However, Stratus refused, pointing out that she felt "her character" did not want to go in that direction.
The 48-year-old then claimed she may have gotten punished for her decision, questioning whether her losing the WWE Women's Championship a week after was a coincidence:
"There was a bit of a concern amongst performers that if you didn't do what you were asked, that you would get punished. And yeah, it did happen to some on occasion, sometimes [points at herself]. There was one time where I was the champion at the time and then suddenly I was in a scene where I was going to be making out with a female, which I didn't think my character wanted to do. Was it a coincidence that I lost the championship the next week? Maybe. Maybe I got punished. I'm not sure," she said.
Trish Stratus addressed kissing Vince McMahon in front of his wife on WWE TV
In the Netflix 'Mr. McMahon' documentary, Vince McMahon and Trish Stratus also discussed their on-screen affair in 2001. The Diva of the Decade disclosed that Linda McMahon was "super cool" with her kissing the WWE Chairman in front of her.
The Hall of Famer disclosed that McMahon's wife even gave her suggestions to advance the storyline and gain more heat from the fans:
"We were very aware of what we were doing to provide fuel for our storyline and Linda was super cool about it too. She was in on it. You know, we were all in on it. There was a scene where I lean over and I kiss Linda and that came from Linda. She was like, 'Oh, it would irk so many people if you would lean over and kiss me in the head,'" Stratus added.
Meanwhile, Shane McMahon disclosed that he disliked the controversial storyline, which his father attributed to Shane O'Mac being "more conservative" than the rest of the family.
