Vince McMahon regretting Netflix docuseries comments, according to former WWE writer (Exclusive)
Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently spoke about how the recent Netflix series has further dented Vince McMahon's reputation. The docuseries was released earlier this week on the popular streaming website.
Mr. McMahon is the subject of a recent docuseries on Netflix. The show explores the rise and fall of the greatest wrestling promoter of all time. The final episode delves into the sexual harassment allegations against the former WWE CEO and the hush money he reportedly paid several women to buy their silence.
This week on BroDown with Vince Russo, the former WWE writer pointed out that a majority of the interviews were carried out before the Janel Grant allegations surfaced. He felt Vince wanted to recant his statements and also tried to buy the series so that it wouldn't dent his image further. Russo detailed that Vince McMahon's outrageous statements in the documentary are now public and there's nothing the 79-year-old veteran can do about it.
"You gotta understand man, this entire interview, or the series of interviews, were before the Janel Grant allegations. Vince wishes he can take these comments back, bro. He can't take them back." [From 11:17 onwards]
Vince McMahon later issued a statement on X/Twitter claiming that he did not regret being part of the series. However, he felt that some facts were taken out of context to make him seem more of a dislikable character.
It will be interesting to see if Vince McMahon shares any more statements now that the show is in the public domain.
