Vince McMahon's reported comeback could be stalled by legal issues, believes wrestling veteran (Exclusive)
Sportskeeda Senior Editor Bill Apter recently spoke about Vince McMahon starting another company. The former WWE Chairman and CEO is in the headlines again, this time with reports of him planning to get into the entertainment business.
Vince McMahon distanced himself from WWE after a lawsuit from ex-employee Janel Grant accusing him of sexual harassment and trafficking. PWInsider recently reported that Mr. McMahon was planning to launch an entertainment-based company. A few names from his WWE days were already working on getting the company up and running.
Bill Apter was part of an exclusive Q&A session this week where he shared his reactions. He expressed his belief that Vince McMahon had probably been planning this since he left WWE. However, the veteran journalist questioned if anyone would want to do business with the 79-year-old given his pending lawsuit. Bill mentioned until he was cleared of all charges, Mr. McMahon's contacts wouldn't possibly be signing any project with him.
"I heard the news and my reaction to it is really simple. He can't sit still. As soon as he left that company, probably before he left the company, he probably had this in mind. The thing is all the contacts he has in the entertainment business, until his legal woes set him free, if they set him free, are any of those people are gonna want to get involved? Two of his old executives from WWE days are already allegedly working with him. I just wonder where a film executive gets a great pitch from him and then goes, isn't this guy still in trouble?" [From 35:15 onwards]
The company would be based out of the Los Angeles area whenever it is launched. The executives are possibly waiting for the lawsuit against Vince McMahon to take its course before making any official announcements.
