Vince McMahon had shocking gaps in his wrestling administration, says veteran (Exclusive)
Despite being one of the most calculated promoters in the business, former WWE CEO Vince McMahon apparently had very little knowledge of wrestling outside of his company. A veteran recently revealed this information when talking about McMahon.
The veteran in question, Vince Russo, worked with McMahon back during the Attitude Era in WWE. Therefore, it is natural that the two learned much about each other during their shared schedules and creative decision-making meetings. According to Russo, he was the one who informed McMahon about how other promotions were doing.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, the veteran said:
"Bro, when I was working there, I had to let him know what was happening in WCW. I had to let him know about ECW. I know he didn't have a clue about New Japan. He didn't... He knew nothing about wrestling outside of his company." [6:06 onwards]

The WWE veteran stated that Vince McMahon may not have any interest in wrestling
While this may come as a surprise to many, Vince Russo thinks that Vince McMahon did not care much for the wrestling aspect of the business.
In the same episode of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, Russo explained his perspective:
"Is Vince really a mark for wrestling? Or is he a mark for running a successful business? I think it's more that than anything. Making the business bigger. For the business, for the business... I just think he was born into wrestling. I really believe that. I don't think Vince is this over-the-top huge wrestling mark. I believe he was a huge mark for his company and the WWE and its success," the veteran said. [5:28 onwards]
As of now, Vince McMahon is still entangled in the case regarding the allegations against him.
