WATCH: 10 WWE moves that got banned!

Some wrestling moves are so dangerous that they have been banned in WWE for the sake of the wrestler's safety. Over the years, fans have seen numerous maneuvers that were quite risky in the ring.

Piledrivers were much more common during the 1980s and the 1990s but the move was banned after Owen Hart botched a sit-down piledriver and injured Stone Cold Steve Austin's neck. The injury was so severe that it temporarily paralyzed Austin and he had to take some time off. Although The Texas Rattlesnake came back, the injury derailed his career. Following this, only The Undertaker and Kane were allowed to use the comparatively safer version of the move, the Tombstone Piledriver.

The Shooting-Star Press is one of the most impressive moves in WWE and fans see it quite often. However, there was a time when the move was completely banned from the Stamford-based company. It happened because Brock Lesnar attempted to deliver the move on Kurt Angle in the main event of WrestleMania 19. However, The Beast Incarnate messed up the move and landed on his head, leading to a concussion. Vince McMahon was not happy with this and banned the move later.
