Watch: CM Punk exits the arena following a vicious attack from Drew McIntyre on WWE SmackDown

CM Punk made a one-off appearance on WWE SmackDown, which took place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago. Sadly, the night did not end well for The Second City Saint. However, he was able to leave the arena on his own.

Earlier this month, Clash at the Castle in Scotland marked CM Punk's return to weekly programming, as The Second City Saint revealed that he might be getting cleared sooner rather than later. However, he cost Drew McIntyre the biggest opportunity of his career at the event.

On a recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown, CM Punk reunited with Paul Heyman before breaking the news about his injury. Sadly, Punk never got to address it as The new Bloodline confronted The Second City Saint in his hometown.

Later, Drew McIntyre brutally attacked CM Punk and carried him out to the stage to present him in front of his hometown. The segment ended when the star was taken out to a local medical facility in an ambulance. However, a video from WrestlingBizwithAndiz on X (formerly Twitter) showed how the star actually left the arena after the show.

It'll be interesting to see what the two do next to each other in the coming weeks.

CM Punk reunited with Paul Heyman on WWE SmackDown

Last year, CM Punk appeared on Friday Night SmackDown after his sensational return to WWE at Survivor Series in Chicago. During his appearance on the blue brand, he mentioned Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns.

Later, The Second City Saint sat next to Paul Heyman's kids during the Hall of Fame ceremony when The Wiseman was inducted into the illustrious class by Roman Reigns.

Today, Paul Heyman and CM Punk reunited inside the square-circle after nearly a decade. The two embraced each other and Heyman warned Punk about The new Bloodline's intentions and asked for a favour.

Later, Solo Sikoa and Tongans appeared and confronted The Straight Edge Superstar on WWE SmackDown. However, The Wiseman asked Punk to take him, as he didn't want any part of the new Bloodline.

In the end, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes came out to save the day with a pair of baseball bats to chase the villainous group away. Sadly, Paul Heyman was forced to leave with the faction, and CM Punk couldn't leave with him.
