[WATCH] CM Punk shares special moment with Chicago fans after WWE show goes off the air: "We are NXT!"
CM Punk sent the NXT premiere on The CW Network off-air with a bone-shattering GTS to the former NXT Champion. The Best in the World was the special guest referee for the title bout between champion Ethan Page and challenger Trick Williams. In the match, fans saw Williams reclaim the NXT Championship. A clip has now gone viral off the show, where Punk had a special giveaway for the crowd in attendance.
Many feel that Shawn Michaels and the team have done a prolific job booking the NXT shows. Several years ago, he took over the developmental brand from Triple H, and since then, he has elevated it to great heights. Tonight’s NXT on CW was the perfect example of that.
The show went off-air with the celebration of Trick Williams and CM Punk. Fans have shared a heartwarming video in which The Best in the World offered treats to those in the crowd at the Allstate Arena. He announced, while the fans were on the way out of the arena that they would get complimentary pizzas from their side. He, with the newly crowned champion, ended the night saying, “I love you, we are NXT.”
“I don’t wanna cut the champs' celebration short, but I gotta tell you a little secret: 'On your way out, ladies and gentlemen, get yourselves some Lou Malnati’s pizza on us. Share with your friends, share with your neighbors. Remember I love you, we are NXT,'” CM Punk said.
CM Punk has an important match coming up this week at Bad Blood 2024 against long-time rival, Drew McIntyre. The stakes of the bout are high, and this is most likely the last time these two men will see each other in a squared circle for now.
