Watch: Cody Rhodes takes massive bump off steel cage at WWE live event
Cody Rhodes' Undisputed WWE Championship reign passed the seven-month mark. The star continues to battle longtime friend Kevin Owens and Solo Sikoa's version of The Bloodline amid rumors of his rivalry with The Rock. Cody is going viral right now after nailing an impressive Cody Cutter earlier tonight in the UK.
The American Nightmare joined other SmackDown and RAW stars at the Utilita Arena in Cardiff, Wales, on Sunday to begin a four-night UK tour. Cody defeated Solo Sikoa in a Steel Cage match for the Undisputed Championship. Tonight's main event was a rematch of the SmackDown opener on September 13, where Cody defeated Solo in a 16-minute cage match.
Rhodes and Sikoa received loud reactions for their entrances and the match, which came right after a rare title shot for Shinsuke Nakamura's return. At one point, Cody nailed a flying Cody Cutter from the side of the cage, as seen below.
Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa ran out to slam the door into Cody's face, but DIY rushed out to stop the WWE Tag Team Champions from climbing into the cage. The teams brawled to the back as Cody finished Solo with a triple Cross Rhodes for the pin.
Solo is coming off a win over Jimmy Uso on Friday's post-Bad Blood edition of SmackDown. Cody defeated Dominik Mysterio in Friday's dark main event, days after Rhodes and Roman Reigns defeated Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in the main event of WWE Bad Blood.
WWE makes last-minute change at live event
WWE officials were forced to make a late change to a top match at today's non-televised live event in Cardiff, Wales.
The Utilita Arena in Cardiff had been advertising Kofi Kingston vs. World Heavyweight Champion Gunther in a Street Fight. However, Chad Gable came out to face The Ring General instead, and no reason was given. This led to Gunther switching his character up for the match.
Kingston was taken out by Bron Breakker on last week's RAW, as were Xavier Woods and Jey Uso. Tomorrow's RAW will feature Kingston vs. Breakker in a match that was taped last Monday.
