[Watch] Michael Cole receives huge reaction from the SmackDown crowd during entrance
Michael Cole serves as the commentator for WWE SmackDown. He recently received a huge reaction from the SmackDown crowd during his entrance.
Cole has been with WWE for several years. He started working in the Stamford-based promotion in 1997 as a backstage interviewer. Over the years, he was promoted to commentator - a role he has played for several years.
The 57-year-old is widely regarded as WWE's voice and a senior member of the broadcast team. While the team has undergone many changes over the years, Cole has remained their one constant. His work ethic has been commendable, as he has rarely missed any show. Hence, Cole also enjoys a massive fan base.
Before the start of the show, the commentators make their own entrance down to the announcer's desk. JBL explains the botch that led to Titus O'Neil throwing up on Michael Cole
During his time in WWE, Michael Cole has been part of several segments. However, one segment was as hilarious as it gets. In 2013, the SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero hosted a "Thanksgiving Leftovers Party." This segment resulted in Titus O'Neil having a food-eating contest with The Great Khali.
After Titus won, Vickie informed him he would be in a match against Cesaro. During the match, Cesaro went for the Cesaro swing, which resulted in Titus O'Neil throwing up in JBL's hat and on Cole. He then placed the puke-filled hat on Cole's head.
During the premiere of Sportskeeda Wrestling's new series What Were They Thinking with JBL and Brisco, the Wrestling God explained how the post-match segment was botched.
"Titus drinks this stuff down because he thinks it's supposed to make him throw up, not just spew the peas and stuff out. He actually throws up on Cole's head on live television. Cole then says, 'I feel like I'm at a frat party back in college again!' Vince McMahon goes, 'Quit bringing it up!' Michael was like, 'You had a guy throw up on me!' [laughs]," JBL said.
