[Watch] Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes almost break down in tears as they share emotional moment on camera

Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes have a long history in WWE. They recently shared an emotional moment and almost cried on camera.

The American Nightmare debuted on the main roster in 2007. The following year, he became a member of The Legacy alongside Ted DiBiase Jr. under The Viper's leadership. The faction lasted nearly two years before the three superstars went their separate ways. Meanwhile, Rhodes always credited Orton for taking him under his wing and teaching him in his early days in the company.

On the latest episode of Rhodes' "What Do You Wanna Talk About?" show on WWE's YouTube channel, The American Nightmare had his mentor, Orton, as a guest. They discussed several topics, including The Viper's potential induction into the Hall of Fame. They also discussed their relationship as the Undisputed WWE Champion claimed he would never have made it in the business without The Legend Killer's help. Cody also disclosed that he has a picture of them together framed in his house, pointing out his happiness that he did not let The Viper down after the latter believed in him.

The two superstars got emotional as Rhodes made these comments and teared up. Orton then told his former teammate that he was proud of him.

Will Randy Orton turn on Cody Rhodes on WWE TV?

Randy Orton has helped Cody Rhodes in his feud with Solo Sikoa's version of The Bloodline. However, many still expected The Viper to turn on The American Nightmare after he seemingly stared at the Undisputed WWE Championship belt multiple times.

While Orton will now challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at Bash in Berlin, Rhodes will defend his title against Kevin Owens that same night. Speaking on his Notsam Wrestling podcast, WWE analyst Sam Roberts suggested The Viper could turn on The American Nightmare after failing to dethrone The Ring General in Germany:

"Maybe Cody Rhodes beats Kevin Owens when they're both friends and then they have one more match at Bad Blood where Kevin Owens is an enemy. And now it's hero Cody Rhodes vs. villain Kevin Owens. And then at the end of that, that's where Randy comes out. Maybe next night, next Friday on SmackDown. Kevin Owens is laying another beatdown on Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton comes out to help Kevin Owens and then boom, RKO out of nowhere on Cody Rhodes. Randy Orton was not successful in winning the World Heavyweight Title, so now it's time to cash in on all those looks that he's been giving Cody's title," he said.

Randy Orton is currently a 14-time world champion. It would be interesting to see if he could win his 15th title by defeating his real-life friend Cody Rhodes.
