[WATCH] WWE star shares update after issues with Drew McIntyre have escalated

Drew McIntyre's situation on WWE RAW is rather disappointing for many fans. Since April 2024, he has received multiple opportunities to reclaim the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XL, owing to a smartly timed Money in the Bank cash-in by Damian Priest.

Each time, the Scotsman came up short thanks to one man: CM Punk. To make matters worse, after Punk cost Drew the latter's Money in the Bank cash-in attempt at the eponymous event on July 6, McIntyre snapped. He got into a physical altercation with RAW General Manager Adam Pearce and two referees.

Pearce suspended Drew McIntyre last week, then reinstated him this week, only to reinforce the suspension after the former WWE Champion refused to apologize to the referees. The general manager was recently accused of being a heel in this storyline as he is biased, especially to the Scotsman.

Taking to Instagram, Adam Pearce shared a reel in which he talks about how character is built upon what is done when unseen. He added that the noise does not bother him.

"It’s always YOU vs YOU," he wrote.

It was at the request of CM Punk that Pearce decided to lift McIntyre's suspension. The RAW GM's condition for Punk was that the latter stays at home this week during RAW, which The Straight Edge Superstar did.

CM Punk maintains suspense regarding in-ring return ahead of WWE SummerSlam

CM Punk's appearance at Money in the Bank was not expected as only a few weeks ago he was manhandled by Drew McIntyre in Chicago. Their showdown is arguably the most anticipated bout right now, but there is a chance it will not happen at SummerSlam.

During the Money in the Bank post-show press conference, The Straight Edge Superstar was asked about when he will get back to the ring:

"I like to keep people in suspense. You know, I will say that I feel great and I'm ready to go. There are things in place to protect me against myself that I maybe wish were in place ten years ago. But, we don't need to talk about the past. Great personnel, great facilities, and I'm busting my a*s to get back," he said.

CM Punk also added that while he is working hard to get back sooner rather than later, those who are supporting him to heal up are also not pushing him to wrestle immediately. He stated that WWE is not in a hurry, which is a good thing.

Regarding his character development both on-screen and off, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash praised both the company and Punk's efforts of late. Despite not being cleared to wrestle, creative has managed to use him in a storyline that stands as one of the best in recent times.
