"We came up with a plan" - Triple H reveals Bad Bunny's initial reaction to joining WWE for the first time

Triple H has commented on how Bad Bunny initially reacted when he was approached with the idea of joining WWE. The latter has competed in several matches so far.

The world-famous musician made his first appearance for the company during the 2021 Royal Rumble event, where he performed his song "Booker T." The five-time WCW World Champion was on the stage during the performance. Bunny made his in-ring debut at WrestleMania 37 and competed in his first singles match at Backlash in Puerto Rico against Damian Priest.

During a recent appearance on The Roommates Show, Triple H stated that he initially spoke to Bad Bunny during the pandemic. The rapper, who was a big fan, was excited about joining WWE.

"When we have celebrities come in and do it, it depends. It depends on how much they're going to do. During the pandemic, Bad Bunny is like a huge fan. For the first time in forever, he wasn't touring, and he had some downtime. We talked, and he was like, 'Man, dream come true if I could do something with you guys.' We came up with a plan. He wanted to do it, and he went and rented a house in Orlando," said Triple H.

He added:

"At that time, I was at the Performance Center probably three or four days a week in Orlando. Every day I'd walk in there, he'd be there. I'd walk in. They'd say, 'Hey, Bunny's here if you want to say hello.' I'd go in there. We had a one-ring-off place, can be insane with 100 talent training in there. Sometimes, he'd be in the other room. We'd have a couple guys in there, he'd be in there training with him. He'd be all beat up, and he'd wear pads all over him 'cause he was killing himself. But he'd be in there every day 'cause he wanted it to be good." [26:37-27:33]

Triple H praises Bad Bunny for his WWE in-ring work

Even though Bad Bunny came into the wrestling world as a musician, he exceeded expectations when he stepped into the squared circle for the first time. He has only had three matches so far and did well in all of them.

Triple H discussed the former WWE 24/7 Champion's performances and explained that they are harder than they look.

"[He] came in and did something with us at WrestleMania and absolutely crushed it. He's come back a couple more times, and last year—or the year before—in Puerto Rico, he did a big match with us with Damian Priest in Puerto Rico. Unbelievable performance. But he dedicated himself to it and put in the time and the effort. So, it's not easy to do. It takes a lot of work," said Triple H. [27:33-27:57]

Bad Bunny has not wrestled a single match this year. It will be interesting to see whether he returns in 2025.
