"Why are you doing that?" – WWE veteran criticizes Rhea Ripley picture (Exclusive)

Rhea Ripley got married to AEW's Buddy Matthews, formerly known as Buddy Murphy in WWE, on June 23. Veteran wrestling writer Vince Russo does not think the popular WWE star should have shared character-breaking pictures from their special day.

Ripley has not appeared on WWE programming since relinquishing the Women's World Championship on April 15 due to a shoulder injury. During the Aussie's absence, her on-screen love interest Dominik Mysterio and biggest rival Liv Morgan have become involved in a romance storyline.

On Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, Russo questioned whether Ripley posting wedding pictures would hurt her story with Morgan and Mysterio:

"You know, bro, I just ask the question why? Just, why? The WWE is investing so much money in her. Why are you doing that? I don't [understand]." [2:14 – 2:28]

Vince Russo on WWE ignoring Rhea Ripley's relationship

In recent weeks, Liv Morgan's attempt to pursue Dominik Mysterio has become one of WWE's most talked-about storylines. The Women's World Champion even kissed the Judgment Day member after he inadvertently helped her defeat Becky Lynch on the May 27 episode of RAW.

Many WWE fans already know Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley are married to other people in real life. However, Vince Russo does not think that fact will ever be referenced as part of the storyline:

"I don't think so. I think they're gonna try to ignore that any of that ever happened. I think so. I don't think they're gonna shine a light on that. They're gonna just kinda try to ignore that any of that ever happened." [10:42 – 10:54]

As Ripley continues to recover from injury, Morgan directed a two-word message toward her long-term rival on social media this week.
