Winner of Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther at WWE Crown Jewel predicted by veteran
Cody Rhodes will square off against Gunther at WWE Crown Jewel. A wrestling veteran recently predicted the outcome of the highly anticipated clash.
A few weeks ago, WWE's Chief Content Officer, Triple H, announced that the Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes, will battle the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther for the Crown Jewel Championship in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this Saturday. The match would be the first one-on-one square-off between The American Nightmare and The Ring General.
Speaking on the Rebooked Wrestling podcast, wrestling veteran Matthew Rehwoldt (fka Aiden English) predicted that Gunther would defeat Rhodes in the Saudi capital in what would be the "match of the night."
"I think it's gonna be Gunther, too. I think this will be the match of the night for me," he said. [From 56:18 - 56:21]
Will a WWE Hall of Famer interfere in the match?
Earlier this month, Gunther almost got into a physical altercation with Hall of Famer Goldberg at Bad Blood. The Ring General insulted the former Universal Champion. While the latter attempted to get in the ring and fight the World Heavyweight Champion, security interfered to separate the two.
On the Rebooked Wrestling podcast, Matthew Rehwoldt's co-host, Jake, suggested Goldberg could interfere in Gunther's match against Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel. The former WWE Superstar did not rule out the possibility.
"Oh, you know, dude, you never know. It's Saudi," he said. [From 56:31 - 56:38]
Goldberg's last match took place in Saudi Arabia when he lost to Roman Reigns in a Universal Championship match in February 2022. Since his segment with Gunther, many have speculated about him potentially returning for one more match against The Ring General. Wrestling veteran Matt Morgan suggested the World Heavyweight Champion would have to destroy Goldberg in five seconds if the two ever squared off.
