Women's World Champion Liv Morgan signs major contract outside WWE
WWE Superstar Liv Morgan's 2024 continues to get better and better. After defeating her biggest rival inside the squared circle, the Women's World Champion has inked a deal with a popular talent agency.
The 30-year-old's last in-ring appearance was at the SummerSlam Premium Live Event. She not only successfully defended her title against Rhea Ripley at The Biggest Party of The Summer but also won over Dominik Mysterio. The Judgment Day member betrayed The Eradicator and helped Morgan retain her title.
According to Variety, Liv Morgan signed with The Paradigm Talent Agency following her SummerSlam win. The former Riott Squad member confirmed the news on her Instagram Stories. The agency has already signed with several top WWE Superstars, including Drew McIntyre, CM Punk, Damian Priest, and Tiffany Stratton.
Former WWE Superstar criticizes predictable finish to Liv Morgan's title defense at SummerSlam
Liv Morgan became the first superstar to hand Rhea Ripley a pinfall loss in over two years. Interestingly, the Women's World Champion was also the last person to pin The Eradicator in 2022. However, the result of the title match did not come as a surprise to many as several fans had already predicted Dominik Mysterio turning on Mami to help Morgan retain.
During an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, former WWE Superstar Afa Anoa'i Jr. (fka anu) stated he enjoyed the entire match but the finish. The 39-year-old mentioned he felt the ending was predictable. The former member of The Legacy pointed out that the creative team could have come up with a better ending to the opening bout of the premium live event:
"So, match number one, I really enjoyed. It was a really hard worked match. What didn't hit for me was the finish. I thought that the match outweighed the finish. And a lot of times, I'd like to see the finish outweigh the match. It was just to me, very, very predictable. Just the way Dom slid the chair in, jumped up, and grabbed the ref was very lazy. It was just lazy. You know, match number one is the tone-setter of the show. Really good match, and I just feel the finish could've been executed better," he said. [From 7:33 onwards]
