Wrestler announces retirement after 23 years; Bronson Reed sends him a messageĀ
Bronson Reed recently shared a heartfelt message for a wrestling veteran after he announced his retirement after over a two-decade run in the business. The WWE star reacted to Australian wrestler Tyler Jacobs hanging up his wrestling boots.
Reed recently underwent surgery after suffering a broken toe during the WarGames match at Survivor Series 2024. His Tsunami attempt from the top of the steel structure proved disastrous, as he's set out to be out of action for months.
However, Bronson Reed has been active on social media, where he regularly shares updates with his fans. Amid this, he also recently reacted to the news of Tyler Jacobs' retirement, with whom he goes back a long way.
Reed took to his X (fka Twitter) account to write that Jacobs was a part of the show where he made his wrestling debut. The RAW Superstar also mentioned that the veteran performer was welcoming and gave him invaluable advice. Check it out below:
"As a teenager, I was a fan of @Shotgun_EPW, and then the night I made my debut in wrestling, he was on the same show. He was so welcoming. He was one of the first people I asked for advice outside of my actual coach. He might not remember that, but I always will! Thanks, Carny!" tweeted Bronson Reed.
Tyler Jacobs has been a part of the wrestling business for 23 years, since 2001, and his final match is set to go down on December 14th in EPW, Perth.
Teddy Long wants to see Bronson Reed return by WWE Royal Rumble 2025
On a recent episode of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine, Teddy Long spoke about how he was looking forward to seeing Reed recover in time for Royal Rumble 2025. Long felt Bronson Reed could be a major player for WWE as it prepares to head into the new year and inches close to WrestleMania 41.
"The other thing too, you want to get him ready for WrestleMania because he's going to be a big name for you at WrestleMania and the Royal Rumble." [From 01:27 to 01:33]
Considering how patient and careful WWE has been with injured wrestlers, there's no doubt they wouldn't rush Reed's return if he wasn't fully recovered.
