Wrestling legend awestruck by Jacob Fatu, says WWE needed him (Exclusive)
It's still early days, but Jacob Fatu already looks like the real deal! After another eventful episode of SmackDown, Dutch Mantel shared his admiration for the Bloodline member.
As seen on SmackDown, Fatu played a significant role in ensuring he and Tama Tonga became the #1 contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
Fatu's arrival in the WWE took some time, but since his debut, the former MLW star has been unstoppable. Dutch Mantell is amongst the many pundits impressed by Jacob as the former WWE manager praised the star's mind-boggling feats inside the ring.
Mantell acknowledged that despite Fatu's size, the Samoan star was capable of doing it all in the squared circle:
"He has dropped weight. But what an athlete! A guy that weighs that much can do backflips off the top turnbuckle. That's unbelievable!" [45:30 - 46:00]
Dutch Mantell particularly liked how WWE had presented Jacob as a monster heel, something he believed the company needed to make money.
More than Jacob Fatu's desire to work for WWE, the promotion required a viscous and ruthless villain on TV.
"But, he has got a lot of attention on him. They are getting him over the way they should get a monster over. You cannot draw money without monster heels or evil heels, that's what you've got to have and he is exactly what they need at WWE." [46:01 onwards]
Jacob Fatu could win his first title in the WWE next week when he and Tonga face DIY for the tag team titles.
