Wrestling veteran bashes WWE for "pointless" Rhea Ripley appearance on RAW (Exclusive)

Former WWE head writer Vince Russo spoke about Rhea Ripley's promo segment on RAW this week. The star returned from injury last week.

Mami kicked off the show this week, addressing the developing relationship between Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio ever since she was sidelined with an injury. "Dirty" Dom walked out to explain everything but Rhea was having none of it. Soon Liv appeared on the titantron taunting the returning Judgment Day member about how she took everything from her. Rhea then issued a challenge to Liv at SummerSlam and the Women's World Champion accepted, making the match official.

During the recent episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Russo felt that the opening segment had no payoff. He pointed out how fans were waiting for Mami's return for months and all they got was a pointless promo setting up a future encounter at SummerSlam.

"We're waiting three months for Rhea Ripley to come back and we have an opening segment that's so anti-climactic. You're gonna sit there and tell me how great this is, bro? That's why it's freaking pointless." [2:46 onwards]

Rhea Ripley vowed this week that when the two stars meet at SummerSlam, she would not only end Liv's title reign but also put an end to her career.

It will be interesting to who emerges victorious in this war of attrition between the top two women of the RAW roster.
