Wrestling veteran details the major reason why Tony Khan fired shots at Jinder Mahal and WWE (Exclusive)

Wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell spoke about AEW President Tony Khan's recent tweets targeted at Jinder Mahal and WWE.

Tony Khan went off on a Twitter rant after WWE announced that The Modern Day Maharaja would face Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship on next week's episode of RAW. Tony questioned the online outrage over Hook challenging Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship. Still, no one complained when Jinder got a title shot against Rollins despite losing all his matches last year.

While speaking on the latest episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's SmackTalk podcast, former WWE manager Dutch Mantell was critical of Tony's tweets. He mentioned that no other promotor ever went after the wrestler of another company before. He felt that this was a ploy from the AEW President to get some attention, and he was successful at it.

"I have never seen, really, an owner of a company just actually send a tweet to the other company and it comes back and forth. They've got a lot of attention. So, what do you think that's from?...If you take into account that RAW is drawing over two million viewers every week and Rampage or Dynamite, what's Dynamite doing? Seven hundred thousand? But it got a lot of attention online. A lot of people wrote me about it," Dutch Mantell said. [1:22 - 2:44]

Tony Khan's tweet got a lot of attention from the online wrestling community, with fans and other stars expressing their opinions. These tweets actually helped Jinder, as he was one of the trending topics on Twitter this past week.

It will be interesting to see if the former WWE Champion can use all this momentum in his match against Seth Rollins this coming Monday on RAW.
