Wrestling veteran details real-life heat between Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and current AEW star
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes was one of the founding members of All Elite Wrestling. Recently, wrestling veteran Konnan detailed the real-life heat between The American Nightmare and current AEW star Brian Cage.
Cody Rhodes made several new friends in the industry when he worked on the Independent circuit, which eventually led to the creation of All Elite Wrestling alongside The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Tony Khan in Jacksonville. He spent a few years in AEW before returning to the Stamford-based promotion.
Speaking on Keepin' It 100 OFFICIAL, Konnan cited an incident between Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and AEW's Brian Cage. The veteran said Rhodes asked him not to bring Cage to a show in Mexico as they had heat at the time.
"Brian Cage, to me, at the beginning, he had heat with Cody Rhodes, and Cody didn't want to bring him in (...) As a matter of fact, I was going to bring him to a show in Mexico, Brian was going to be in, Cody was going to be in it, and Cody asked me not to put him on it. They had some sort of heat," Konnan said. (From 02:12 to 02:52)

The event's timeline is unclear, but Konnan stated the 40-year-old star has been in the doghouse since Brian Cage's wife questioned AEW's booking of Cage.
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes hated The Young Bucks' comments
Cody Rhodes indirectly burned a lot of bridges at All Elite Wrestling when he returned to WWE. There are several instances when stars from AEW have fired shots at The American Nightmare. However, the Undisputed WWE Champion has not held any grudges against anyone for those comments.
In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Cody Rhodes addressed tribalism. During this, he pointed out how he hated what The Young Bucks wrote in their book about the star. The 39-year-old WWE star stated he wasn't the first to sign with the company, but the first to meet with Tony Khan.
“I hated that in The Young Bucks’ book they said I was last to the signing. Because that’s a big thing. ‘Oh, he was last, he wasn’t that big a deal to the origin.’ No, this guy here who’s off camera was the first person to ever meet Tony and he met him in a vetting process for all of us," Rhodes said.
