Wrestling veteran makes bold claim for Logan Paul ahead of SummerSlam (Exclusive)

Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell feels Logan Paul needs to hold on to the United States Championship. He won the title last year when he defeated Rey Mysterio at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.

Over the last few months, Paul has used every trick in the book to avoid defending the US Title. He has held onto the title for over 270 days, making him one of the longest-reigning United States Champions in WWE history. During this time, he has defended the gold only twice. He now has to face LA Knight at SummerSlam for the title.

This week on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk, Mantell claimed that Logan Paul was attracting a lot of eyeballs to the product. He felt that the star's social media reach would help WWE grow the product to a newer audience. He detailed that the Maverick has a lot of momentum and shouldn't lose the title anytime soon.

"I think he needs to keep it. I think he's got the steam rolling right now and you just cut it off?" [From 31:45 onwards]

This week on SmackDown, Logan tried to cost LA Knight his match against Santos Escobar. After Knight won, Logan and Santos mounted a vicious two-on-one attack on the star.

It will be interesting to see if Logan Paul can hold on to his title against LA Knight at SummerSlam.
