Wrestling veterans on whether Nick Aldis will make his in-ring debut at WWE SummerSlam 2024
WWE signed several new stars in the wake of the regime change, and Triple H appointed Nick Aldis as Friday Night SmackDown's General Manager. Recently, WCW legends Konnan and Disco Inferno commented on whether Aldis would make his in-ring debut for the company.
Nick Aldis has been around the industry for over two decades and has made waves on the independent circuit while honing his craft. The former TNA World Heavyweight Champion has been in different promotions, where he portrayed unique roles, before signing with the Stamford-based promotion under Triple H's regime.
Speaking on Keepin' It 100 OFFICIAL, Disco Inferno and Konnan gave their thoughts on a possible match between Nick Aldis and AJ Styles at The Biggest Party of The Summer in Ohio. However, Inferno claimed that the SmackDown GM was recovering from a bicep injury and wouldn't debut at the event.
"But no. I believe Nick Aldis still has a torn tricep [bicep] and will not be performing at SummerSlam, if the timeline is correct here. Yeah, he's out injured," Inferno said. (From 1:28 to 1:43)
Meanwhile, Konnan believes both authority figures from RAW and SmackDown should end up competing for the promotion, as they can easily portray any given role.
"I just think that, number one, he [Nick Aldis] brought up the fact that AJ Styles and Magnus feuded in TNA. I doubt they would even remember, right? Number two: sooner or later, bro, you've got to put Adam Pearce or [Nick] Aldis in the ring. They both stay in good shape, you know, and they can be a good heel or a good babyface," Konnan said. Two major matches are confirmed for WWE SummerSlam 2024
SummerSlam is the second biggest event in the WWE's history, and Triple H's regime plans to add prestige when the event occurs at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Ohio this August.
Earlier this year, The Game announced that the winner of the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments in Saudi Arabia would receive a guaranteed World Title shot at The Biggest Party of The Summer.
Later, Gunther and Nia Jax won the respective tournaments to earn a shot at the World Title at WWE SummerSlam 2024. The title matches remain intact for the event. However, the new champions could be crowned in the coming weeks.
