WWE announces big debut for Logan Paul
Logan Paul captured the WWE United States Championship in his eighth career match. The social media megastar has secured wins at marquee events such as WrestleMania and SummerSlam. Now, the rising pro wrestler is set to mark another significant milestone.
World Wrestling Entertainment is set to return to Madison Square Garden on Friday, June 28, for a live SmackDown. This is the first WWE show at The World's Most Famous Arena since the non-televised event on December 26, and the first TV taping since SmackDown on July 7 of last year, which was headlined by Edge vs. Grayson Waller.
The last RAW from MSG came on July 25, 2022, and the episode opened with Paul and The Miz brawling. The YouTube star later hosted Impaulsive TV but was attacked by Miz and Tommaso Ciampa.
The Maverick is now set to make his in-ring debut at Madison Square Garden. WWE and MSG just announced Paul for the SmackDown taping on June 28, but a potential opponent was not clear.
Rey Mysterio and Bobby Lashley have been pulled from advertisements for the return to Madison Square Garden. The other superstars still being advertised are Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes, World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest, Women's Champion Bayley, Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, LA Knight, Jey Uso, Bianca Belair, and Jade Cargill.
WWE and MSG previously announced Uso vs. Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship, which will be a dark match. The pre-show VIP Experience will feature Owens, Knight, and Bayley. This show will also mark Jade Cargill's MSG debut.
WWE Superstar continues rivalry with Logan Paul
Logan Paul is set to pass the 230-day mark in his reign with the United States Championship. He and LA Knight have traded shots for weeks, and it's believed that these two will lock up soon with the title on the line.
The Maverick and The Megastar actually first cut promos on each other in July 2023 for a Money in the Bank build. Knight recently issued a challenge to Paul for last Saturday's Clash at the Castle: Scotland PLE, but Paul denied him. Knight then aired a video on SmackDown to show how he had invaded Paul's home.
The Knight vs. Paul title match has been speculated on for Money in the Bank on July 6 in Toronto. However, SummerSlam on August 3 in Cleveland seems more likely as this is Paul's hometown.
