WWE announces high profile segment for RAW following recent implosion

WWE announced a highly anticipated segment for tonight's edition of RAW. This week's episode of the red brand will air live from the Intrust Arena in Wichita, Kansas.

The New Day celebrated its 10th anniversary as a faction last Monday night on RAW. Big E returned during the segment and to keep his friends from splitting up, he offered to become Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods' manager. Woods and Kingston were not thrilled with the idea and reprimanded the 38-year-old for abandoning them while recovering from his injury. The former champions turned heel and told E to get out of the ring.

The Stamford-based promotion announced that The New Day would address the WWE Universe tonight on RAW, following their implosion last week on the red brand.

"TONIGHT on #WWERaw: @TrueKofi and @AustinCreedWins speak after turning their backs on @WWEBigE 📺 8/7c on @USANetwork," stated the announcement.

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods had been teasing a split in recent weeks and got into a heated argument following their loss to Alpha Academy on the November 25 edition of RAW. However, they appeared to settle their differences and unite once again after turning heel last Monday night.

Vince Russo claims The New Day's heel turn on WWE RAW made zero sense

Wrestling veteran Vince Russo recently claimed that The New Day's heel turn last week didn't make sense.

Speaking on the latest edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, the veteran stated that the segment was illogical. Russo argued that it was not believable that two of Big E's closest friends would betray him due to his injury.

"That Kofi-Woods thing made zero sense. My God, bro. The dude broke his freaking neck, and you want me to believe that two of his closest friends are gonna cut a promo on him because he broke his neck? That was beyond unbelievable," said Russo. [From 11:02 onwards]

Big E has not competed in a match since suffering a broken neck on the March 11, 2022, edition of SmackDown. It will be interesting to see what the company has planned for The New Day moving forward following their heel turn last week on RAW.
