WWE announces historic venue for Elimination Chamber 2025
WWE Survivor Series is a few weeks away, and Elimination Chamber 2025 is making the headlines before the event. Today, it was announced the premium live event will make its return to Canada in a major way.
International events have become a crucial part of the company in the past few years. Triple H's regime has hosted several events outside the United States on different scales across the globe.
Today, it was announced that Elimination Chamber 2025 will return to the historic Rogers Centre, which was previously known as the SkyDome, that hosted WrestleMania X8 over two decades ago.
The scale of the premium live event has increased after its last edition in Perth, Australia. Meanwhile, Chief Content Officer Triple H commented on the event's return to Canada and its future in the international market.
“Canada is an amazing place to host our biggest Premium Live Events, with its passionate fans and rich history that spans decades. On the heels of a record-breaking Money In The Bank this past July, we are excited to return to Toronto for an even larger event in 2025," Hunter said.
WWE has held 3 Elimination Chamber Premium Live Events outside the United States
International events have become a staple for WWE, as several premium live events have taken place outside the United States. However, the company hasn't exempted the local market, as WrestleMania and other big events often take place in the States.
Lately, the Elimination Chamber has adopted a new trend, and several editions have taken place outside of the United States in the past few years. In 2022, the event took place in Saudi Arabia, and it featured many notable names such as Roman Reigns, Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, and more.
Last year, the event was in Toronto as the Bloodline saga took center stage when Sami Zayn faced Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Championship. Earlier this year, the PLE was in Perth, Australia, as Rhea Ripley and Nia Jax closed the show.
The company has hosted the event outside the United States three consecutive times. The fourth one is around the corner, as the roster will return to Canada ahead of WrestleMania XL in April 2025.
