WWE announces major match for Bron Breakker following RAW attack
Bron Breakker arrived on WWE RAW this year with great anticipation. In a major surprise, Breakker's first Intercontinental Championship reign recently came to an end in less than two months. The second-generation superstar is now gearing up for another major championship opportunity.
Andrade's next WWE Speed Championship challenger may be a force to be reckoned with. The eighth Speed Men's Tournament begins next Wednesday at 12 pm ET on X. After dethroning inaugural champion Ricochet in June, El Idolo retained over Xavier Woods, Baron Corbin, and Pete Dunne. He hasn't defended since late August as the inaugural Women's Speed Tournament was held.
Sheamus vs. Giovanni Vinci will kick off the next eight-man Speed Tournament on Wednesday. The next first-round bout will feature Breakker vs. Cruz Del Toro. The bottom half of the bracket will begin with Dragon Lee vs. Tavion Heights, then the opening round will wrap with Akira Tozawa vs. Riley Osborne.
The next quarter-finals will feature Sheamus or Vinci vs. Breakker or Del Toro, plus Lee or Heights vs. Tozawa or Osborne. The winners will advance to the semi-finals, likely on November 27, and the last superstar standing will challenge Andrade for the WWE Speed Championship in the first week of December.
Lee and Tozawa are the only superstars to compete in two Speed tournaments. Dragon lost to Ricochet in the first-ever Speed episode, while Akira lost to Nathan Frazer in the semi-finals of the fifth tournament.
Bron Breakker set for first time ever WWE RAW match
Bron Breakker is looking to secure his second main roster championship by winning the Speed tournament. He dropped the WWE Intercontinental Championship to Jey Uso on September 23, ending his reign at just fifty-one days.
Breakker congratulated Main Event Jey the following week on RAW but then laid him out in a sneak attack this past Monday. Uso had just retained the title over Xavier Woods in a six-minute match.
After Breakker's sneak attack on Uso, he then took out The New Day with brutal assaults. This was done to set up Bron's first singles match with Kofi Kingston on next week's RAW.
