WWE botches major star's entrance on SmackDown
WWE botched a major star's entrance tonight during SmackDown. The star in question competed in a high-stakes match on the blue brand.
Bayley squared off against Naomi in a singles match during tonight's show. The winner would go on to battle Nia Jax for the WWE Women's Championship next weekend at Bad Blood. During The Role Model's entrance on SmackDown, the promotion made a huge botch and displayed Damage CTRL's logo on the jumbotron. The 35-year-old was the former leader of the faction before they betrayed her, earlier this year.
Bayley was the leader of Damage CTRL, but the group turned on her after she won the Women's Royal Rumble Match. The veteran got the ultimate revenge by dethroning her former stablemate, IYO SKY, of the WWE Women's Championship at WrestleMania XL.
Nia Jax then got the better of Bayley at SummerSlam last month to capture the title.
Bayley reveals what she wants to see from Jade Cargill in WWE
SmackDown star, Bayley, recently discussed Jade Cargill and what she wanted to see from the 31-year-old in the company.
Jade Cargill spent several years in All Elite Wrestling before departing the Jacksonville-based promotion to join WWE. She debuted with the company during the Fastlane 2023 Kickoff Show and is currently one-half of the Women's Tag Team Champions, alongside Bianca Beliar. Cargill and Belair recently made it known that they would like to defend their titles during NXT's debut on the CW Network on October 1.
Speaking with Sportskeeda Wrestling's, Bill Apter, in an exclusive interview earlier this year, the former Damage CTRL member revealed what she hoped to see from Cargill moving forward. She noted that she takes the wrestling business very personally, and is looking for Big Jade to develop a connection with the fans.
"I'm excited to have her. I think she's a very unique performer. Obviously, she has the look, so I'm interested to see what she brings to the division because I'm all about watching the division grow and what you can bring to the table, and I need to see consistency, I need to see you out there working, and I need to see that connection with the fans because I take this very personally," she said.
