WWE brand switch seemingly confirmed on SmackDown
The go-home episode of WWE SmackDown was a stacked affair. It was the final build-up ahead of Money in the Bank, and many fans noticed that a familiar name had made an appearance on the blue brand.
During a backstage segment with Bayley, Piper Niven, and Chelsea Green, Jackie Redmond was seen picking up the interviewing duties, seemingly taking over from Kayla Braxton, who left WWE following SmackDown at Madison Square Garden last week.
Braxton reportedly opted against re-signing and had bigger plans she hoped to pursue outside the wrestling ring. Now that Cathy Kelley appears to be alone on the blue brand, Redmond has seemingly come across to provide some backup in her home country of Canada.
It is unclear if this brand switch will be made official on RAW or if Jackie will now be one of only a handful of stars who can work on both SmackDown and the red brand.
Jackie Redmond is still listed as a RAW star on WWE.com, but she could have been quietly moved to SmackDown this week or used to fill in for Braxton in the short term while the company looks to find a more long-term replacement.
