WWE could bring in dissatisfied AEW star soon, says Vince Russo (Exclusive)

A particular AEW star is reportedly jumping ship to WWE in the near future. While there is no official confirmation yet, Vince Russo thinks the move is possible as long as the star does not intend to be in the top card.

Over the last few weeks, there have been more than a few signs of Ricky Starks being unsatisfied with his run in Tony Khan's promotion. Furthermore, Ricky has also seemingly shown interest in joining WWE at some point. However, there has been no open declaration from anyone about the rumors.

Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, Vince Russo shared his thoughts on the matter. According to him, Ricky is a very capable wrestler but lacked the unique personality necessary to propel him to the top of the roster. Russo also admitted he could still be hired by WWE, nevertheless.

"That's not to say they're not gonna hire him [Ricky Starks]. Because they got a lot of people that fall in that category. So you want another great little hand, hire him!" [From 03:43 onwards]

WWE veteran thinks Ricky Starks does not have enough character to make it big

While Ricky is very capable on both the mic and in the ring, Vince Russo is still unconvinced about his character.

Speaking on the same episode of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, Russo explained his point. According to him, Ricky needs to build a unique character that will become his hallmark.

"It's exactly what EC3 is saying bro. Wrestlers are a dime a dozen. Great wrestlers are a dime a dozen. For somebody like me, you just gotta give me more than that. And the time that I did see him [Ricky Starks] on AEW, I... What are you gonna tell me your character is bro, you're a cocky wrestler? Everybody is a cocky wrestler bro. You gotta give me more than that man." [From 02:23 onwards]

For now, only time will tell if Ricky Starks will actually jump ship to WWE down the line.
