WWE bringing back 38-year-old former champion after releasing him a year ago would be a good idea, says Jinder Mahal

Under Triple H's creative direction, WWE has brought back multiple names who were released under the older regime. Jinder Mahal, who himself was let go from the global wrestling juggernaut a few months back, suggested the Stamford-based company should re-sign a few stars, including Mustafa Ali.

Mustafa Ali was a part of the company for nearly seven years. The 38-year-old star started his journey as a part of the Cruiserweight division but became a mainstay on the main roster in his latter years. However, the star was never utilized to his full potential in WWE and ended up leaving the company in September 2023. Ali has wrestled across multiple promotions since then, winning championships around the world.

Jinder Mahal recently called out his former promotion for the lack of diversity, stating that there is only one South Asian in WWE currently. The Modern Day Maharaja added that while his time with the Stamford-based company is over, Triple H and Co. could re-sign Mustafa Ali, Rohan Raja, and The Bollywood Boyz, formerly known as The Singh Brothers.

Rohan Raja was a part of NXT UK for nearly a year before getting released in 2022. The Singh Brothers, meanwhile, were in the company for half a decade and even worked alongside Jinder Mahal as his sidekick.

Jinder Mahal reflected on his WWE release

After an electric start to 2024 where he had a segment with The Rock and faced Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship, Jinder Mahal was shockingly released from WWE in April 2024.

The former United States Champion reflected on his departure from WWE during an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling. Mahal noted that it was all business at the end of the day while keeping the door for his return open.

"It's business at the end of the day. Business evolves, things change, shakeups happen, management changes, talent changes, but that's what makes a business interesting, right? Like, that's what makes wrestling interesting. I got released before, I came back, maybe I will come back again. Who knows, right? So, all good, it's business at the end of the day. Business goes on, at the end of the day, I am still a professional wrestler and that's the only thing that matters," Jinder Mahal said.

Jinder now goes by the in-ring name Raj Dhesi. He has competed for multiple indie promotions since leaving WWE and even won a couple of championships.
