WWE Champion Cody Rhodes takes massive shot at Solo Sikoa on SmackDown

Cody Rhodes believed he'd silenced The Bloodline for good after his WWE WrestleMania 40 victory over Roman Reigns. However, the rejuvenated Samoan faction, now under Solo Sikoa's leadership, has set its sights on The American Nightmare once again.

Following Rhodes' successful defense of the WWE Championship against AJ Styles at Clash at the Castle, Sikoa, alongside Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa, launched a post-match assault. However, Randy Orton and Kevin Owens intervened to aid the 38-year-old champion.

On the June 21 edition of SmackDown, The Street Champion further bolstered his Bloodline by introducing a new member - Jacob Fatu. The Samoan Werewolf wasted no time in making his presence felt, laying waste to the babyfaces.

This week's blue brand show began with a chaotic brawl between The American Nightmare, The Viper, and The Prizefighter against the Samoan stars. Following the utter dismantling of security guards by Orton, Owens, and Rhodes, the WWE Champion stepped forward to address the chaos.

In a fiery promo, Cody Rhodes declared the new Bloodline a sham! The 38-year-old champion fired shots at Solo Sikoa, scoffing that he's not "The Tribal Chief," but a mere "seat filler" for Roman Reigns.

"I don't know why we're calling it a Bloodline because I don't see a boss, I don't see a tribal chief, I see a SEAT FILLER," said Rhodes.

Cody Rhodes paid tribute to a WWE legend after SmackDown went off the air

Since the Blue brand show emanated from Madison Square Garden, Rhodes has a heartbreaking memory of the venue. The American Dream Dusty Rhodes won the WWE Title from Superstar Billy Graham at The World's Most Famous Arena but had to drop it because of technicality.

The American Nightmare paid homage to his late father and WWE Hall of Famer, Dusty Rhodes after SmackDown went off the air.

"I was eight years old, I saw the picture of him holding this title. I knew nothing about the ins and outs of pro wrestling and sports entertainment. All I knew was I wanted to win that title for him. I had always planned on saying the silliest thing to him. I just wanted to tell him that nobody can take it away from you now," Cody Rhodes said.

Only time will tell if Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, and Rhodes manage to pick up a win over the Bloodline at Money in the Bank in the presence of the dominant Jacob Fatu.
