WWE champion reveals behind-the-scenes footage of his popular show
WWE Superstars are some of the biggest and most versatile entertainers across the globe. While some combine their fighting style and promo skills to win hearts in the ring, they also use their skills outside the Stamford-based promotion. Interestingly, a WWE champion recently performed at one such event and has shared the behind-the-scenes visuals from the program.
Sami Zayn performed a comedy special in front of his home crowd of Toronto on July 4, 2024, before the Money in the Bank PLE. Titled ‘Sami Zayn and Friends’, the special was created in collaboration with ‘Netflix is a Joke.’
The WWE Intercontinental Champion tweeted a video on X and showcased some unseen backstage visuals. The behind-the-scenes footage showcased the Canadian Superstar opening his show and a closing moment where he received a low blow for a gag. Women’s Champion Bayley can also be seen in the video praising Zayn's work.
"A fun look behind the scenes of 'Sami Zayn & Friends.' All that’s missing is the total sense of chaos & panic moments before showtime," Sami wrote.
The IC Champ is geared up for another show at Cleveland when WWE will head to the SummerSlam PLE.
While he is ready to make his fans laugh, he might face the toughest title defense of his reign on August 3, 2024.
Sami Zayn could face two WWE Superstars at SummerSlam
Sami Zayn overcame a mountain-like challenge in the form of Bron Breakker at Money in the Bank. The latter had almost dethroned the champ but ultimately lost against the babyface.
However, it seems that Breakker will have another go at the gold alongside Ilja Dragunov, who recently challenged Zayn for the championship.
This week on RAW, Zayn gave the Mad Dragon a title shot, stating that he had earned it. However, an enraged Breakker interfered and took out both superstars in the main event. While Dragunov won the match via disqualification, he didn’t win the championship. Now, Sami faces a possible Triple Threat match at SummerSlam.
The Canadian Superstar won a Triple Threat match at King and Queen of the Ring 2024 against Chad Gable and Bronson Reed. It would be interesting to see if he can do it again against two of RAW's fiercest stars.
