WWE champion seeks blockbuster dream matches with Randy Orton and The Rock

Randy Orton and The Rock have been in WWE for over two decades and it appears they still have plenty of gas left in the tank. Recently, reigning NXT Champion Ethan Page expressed interest in a match against The Viper, but The Great One remains his top priority.

Dwayne Johnson's last in-ring appearance was at WrestleMania XL's Night One where he teamed up with Roman Reigns to defeat the team of Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes. The Final Boss appeared on RAW after 'Mania and promised to go after The American Nightmare whenever he returned.

Orton, meanwhile, suffered a massive loss at the hands of Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at Bash in Berlin 2024. Later, he paired up with Kevin Owens on the September 12, 2024, episode of WWE SmackDown to beat Austin Theory and Grayson Waller of A-Town Down Under.

In an interview with Chris Van Vliet of INSIGHT, Ethan Page said he wanted to have a dream match with The Viper. He lauded Randy Orton as one of the best wrestlers of the past two decades and admired his physique and in-ring prowess. The NXT Champion emphasized that Orton had set a remarkably high standard for wrestlers to strive for.

"It's probably Randy Orton. Yeah, I would say that is the [dream]. I mean, one of the best ever past 20 years here. How many more does he have? I don't know. I mean, if I look at him, I'm gonna think a lot looks like a million dollars. He's the guy. I mean, he's the bar as far as how you want to be as a wrestler, he’s great," Page said. (H/T CVV)

All Ego also mentioned that he would like to lock horns with former WWE World Champion The Rock. However, Ethan Page questioned how many more matches The Rock might have left in his career. The star said:

"The Rock is obviously numero uno. I don't know how many more matches he plans on having. I don't know how many Egos Edges he has left in his career." (H/T CVV)

WWE Hall of Famer reveals that his match with Randy Orton is his all-time favorite

The legendary Mick Foley recently opened up about his brutal match against The Apex Predator that took place 20 years ago. Foley (FKA Cactus Jack) defeated Orton one-on-one in a Hardcore match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at Backlash 2004.

In a recent video on the WWE Vault YouTube channel, Mick Foley said that he believes his match with Randy Orton was one of his greatest career moments, praising the latter's talent and dedication.

"I was a big believer in the potential of Randy Orton, and I thought I've got this amazing young athlete, [whose] ears and eyes [were] wide open, and we're in a situation where he can help me have the type of match I need to have to feel complete, and I can help him take that next step up the ladder. Given his age and experience, it was a performance for the ages. I think to this day, he says it's his favorite match. [It's] my favorite match of all time," Foley said.

The Viper failed to become a 15-time World Champion in WWE at Bash in Berlin, so fans will have to wait and see what the future holds for him.
