WWE champion sends threatening message ahead of SmackDown
Tonight's WWE SmackDown is shaping up to be a loaded show as the road to Clash at the Castle: Scotland continues. Amid rumors of a massive babyface turn, one top superstar has issued a warning ahead of tonight's show.
A-Town Down Under are the WWE Tag Team Champions. Grayson Waller and Austin Theory are currently feuding with DIY's Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, and tonight's SmackDown will feature Waller vs. Gargano in a continuation of their late 2021 NXT feud.
The rivalry began when Waller destroyed Gargano as he was giving his farewell speech before taking a few months off. Gargano re-signed with the company nine months later and eventually made a surprise NXT return to set up his 18-minute Unsanctioned Match win over Waller at Stand & Deliver 2023.
The 21st Century Success Story and Johnny Wrestling will fight each other for the second time tonight on SmackDown. The Australian grappler took to his Instagram stories today to share memories from the NXT rivalry with Gargano. Waller promised to make more memories with the Clevelander.
"Some of my fave Johnny Gargano memories... Tonight, I add one more happy memory," Grayson Waller wrote with the screenshots below.
Theory also has a significant connection to Gargano. The two were previously in an NXT faction, The Way, along with Candice LeRae, Indi Hartwell, and Dexter Lumis. Theory officially left the group when he was Drafted to RAW in 2021.
