WWE claims current champion was asking for attack on RAW

The road to WWE SummerSlam has been full of twists and turns for the RAW brand. A current champion recently poked and prodded one of WWE's biggest superstars, and now the company is taunting the heel ahead of tonight's show.

The Judgment Day added more gold to their shelf last month as JD McDonagh and Finn Balor captured the World Tag Team Championship from Awesome Truth. The Miz and R-Truth have been out for revenge, so last week they linked up with Braun Strowman for six-man action against the tag team champions and Carlito.

The Irish Ace focused on The Monster of all Monsters in last week's Six-Man Tag Team match, taunting and hitting him with cheap shots. At one point, Strowman and Truth joined forces for a two-man Strowman Express to steamroll their opponents at ringside. McDonagh ended up launching a steel chair at the former Universal Champion, which led to Braun giving chase as JD retreated through the crowd.

Miz warned a distracted Truth to pay attention to the match, but The Prince attacked him from behind and hit Coup de Grace for the win. Going into tonight's RAW, WWE shared a split-screen clip from last week's match and accused McDonagh of asking for a beatdown.

"Feels like @jd_mcdonagh was asking for that [skull emoji]," wrote WWE with the video below.

Officials have not confirmed who Balor and McDonagh will defend against at SummerSlam on August 3. The Judgment Day is currently surrounded by ongoing tension among the members as Damian Priest prepares to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Gunther at The Biggest Party of The Summer.
