WWE claims R-Truth didn’t deserve recent attack ahead of RAW
R-Truth was left shattered in the ring, mere months after losing the World Tag Team Championship to The Judgment Day. His tag team partner, The Miz, hit him with a Skull Crushing Finale in the middle of the ring and walked away.
Truth, 52, returned to WWE late last year and immediately reclaimed his popularity among fans as he found hilarious ways to prove that he was a member of The Judgment Day. Ultimately, the veteran had to pay the price. This led to him reforming an old partnership he had with The A-Lister. The Awesome Truth won the tag titles at WrestleMania XL for the first time together in their careers.
On the September 30 episode of RAW, the former WWE Champion betrayed R-Truth and abandoned him to fend for himself during their match against the Authors of Pain. Karrion Kross helped The Miz get some measure of revenge last week on RAW after The A-Lister lost to Truth in 60 seconds. Miz attacked the latter post-match with a little help from The Final Testament:
"R-Truth didn’t deserve this 😔," WWE's Instagram post caption read.
It remains to be seen where this story goes from here, as Karrion Kross continues his run as The Herald of Doomsday. Anyone Kross has crossed paths with has undergone significant character change. Could The Miz possibly join The Final Testament? Only time will tell.
Former World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest is a fan of R-Truth, wants to team up with the veteran
R-Truth revealed earlier this year that it was Damian Priest who suggested to Triple H & Co. to prolong his storyline with The Judgment Day. While initially it was seemingly nothing more than a comedy relief, the angle grew in proportions leading to the veteran winning the tag titles from Priest and Finn Bálor on the grand stage in April.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet recently, the former World Heavyweight Champion praised the 52-year-old veteran's work of late and guaranteed uniting with the latter in tag team capacity:
"Ah Ronnie [Killings], that guy. I mean, look, it goes without saying at some point we’re gonna have to team, we’re gonna have to properly. The guy is unbelievable how talented of a performer [...] It’s unbelievable how funny he is, and it’s just his natural way of being. He’s just a funny guy and really lovable person," Priest said.
Ultimately, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley suffered the same fate as R-Truth. They wound up getting booted out of The Judgment Day at SummerSlam.
