WWE compensated major star for frustrating decision with different role at SummerSlam, says Tommy Carlucci

One of WWE's top stars will not compete at SummerSlam this Saturday. However, former employee Tommy Carlucci believes that the Triple H-led creative team has compensated the former champion by assigning the veteran a different role at The Biggest Party of The Summer.

The wrestler in question is Seth Rollins. The Visionary is not booked to wrestle at what is considered one of the year's top four PLEs. Nevertheless, he will be the Special Guest Referee for the much-awaited clash between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre.

Last night on RAW, the former World Heavyweight Champion summed up the rules for the match between The Scottish Warrior and The Best in The World when he asserted that he would do anything he desired this Saturday.

While addressing last night's RAW segment on The Last Word, Carlucci claimed that the Triple H-led WWE put Rollins in that role to make it up to him for not being on the SummerSlam card. Carlucci pointed out that The Architect laying out the rules was an attempt to give the latter a bigger spot.

"You know the reason why they did it is to give a bigger role for Seth because he had no match at the second-biggest PLE of the year. They had nothing for him. So, they made Seth to be the big guy in this whole thing. That's what they're doing. They gave Seth a bigger role because he's one of the top superstars, and they don't have a match for him at SummerSlam," he said. [5:24-6:32]

Seth Rollins sent a message after WWE RAW

On last night's RAW, Seth Rollins revealed he volunteered to officiate the match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre at WWE SummerSlam. Meanwhile, he told both superstars that he hated them.

While The Scottish Warrior seemingly tried to win over the Special Guest Referee, The Second City Saint informed the latter that he did not need the former Shield member's help.

After laying out his rules on WWE RAW, Rollins took to Twitter (X) to send a message, stating that what happened on the red brand was "just the appetizer!"

"This is just the appetizer, baby. You gotta tune into #SummerSlam on Saturday for the main course. We're gonna be eatin' goooood!" he wrote.

While fans expect a vicious fight between Punk and McIntyre due to the massive hatred the two WWE Superstars have for each other, it will be interesting to see if Rollins becomes a deciding factor in the encounter.
