WWE congratulates Drew McIntyre ahead of Clash at the Castle 2024

Drew McIntyre has a major match at WWE Clash at the Castle 2024, and The Scottish Warrior is ready for the event. Meanwhile, the Stamford-based promotion congratulated the star ahead of the Premium Live Event in Scotland, as McIntyre was inducted into the Scottish Wrestling Hall of Fame.

In 2022, Drew McIntyre headlined Clash at the Castle and lost to Roman Reigns in the show's main event. The 39-year-old star was heartbroken as he lost to The Tribal Chief in front of his friends and family. However, the landscape has changed for The Scottish Warrior heading into the show's second edition.

On Thursday (June 13), WWE's official account on Instagram congratulated McIntyre, as he became the first active competitor to be inducted into the Scottish Wrestling Hall of Fame. The two-time WWE Champion was commemorated ahead of the Clash at the Castle PLE in Glasgow, Scotland.

"Congratulations, @dmcintyrewwe, on becoming the first active wrestler to be inducted into the Scottish Wrestling Hall of Fame!'' the post read.

Drew McIntyre will face Damian Priest at WWE Clash at the Castle 2024

Earlier this year, Drew McIntyre fulfilled his destiny at WrestleMania XL in front of a crowd when he captured the World Heavyweight Championship from Seth Rollins. Sadly, The Scottish Warrior's obsession with CM Punk led to his undoing, as The Best in The World attacked him to allow Damian Priest to cash in the Money in the Bank contract.

The Straight Edge Superstar later cost McIntyre a shot at the World Heavyweight Title by interfering in a Fatal Four-Way Match on RAW. The Archer of Infamy retained his title against Main Event Jey Uso at Backlash France. Later, Priest agreed to defend the title against Drew McIntyre. The match was later confirmed for Clash at the Castle by Triple H at the King and Queen of the Ring PLE in Saudi Arabia.

The two stars have cut scathing promos on each other in recent weeks. Recently, Drew McIntyre returned to in-ring competition and defeated The Judgment Day's Finn Balor. The win also ensured that the faction wouldn't get to interfere during the title match.

The upcoming title match will be Damian Priest's second title defense at a Premium Live Event. It will be interesting to see which star leaves Scotland as the World Heavyweight Champion.
