WWE considering controversial addition to weekly episodes of SmackDown

WWE is open to making a controversial change to SmackDown every week.

The blue brand is home to some of the biggest stars in the company. The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and The Bloodline were selected by SmackDown during this year's draft. RAW Women's Champion Bianca Belair has also made her way to the Friday Night show. Meanwhile, WWE CEO Nick Khan recently disclosed that the company could consider adding another hour to the weekly television show, which runs for two hours currently.

Nick Khan made an appearance at the J.P. Morgan Global Technology, Media & Communications Conference earlier today in Boston, Massachusetts. The CEO confirmed that the company would consider adding a third hour to SmackDown each week during the event. He also confirmed that the company's window of exclusive negotiations of media rights with Fox for SmackDown has expired.

"Nick Khan on U.S. media rights exclusive windows for Raw & Smackdown: "We're just out of the exclusive window with Fox. We're still in the window with NBCU," tweeted Brandon Thurston of WrestleNomics.

Deleted a prior tweet that incorrectly said they were out of the windows on both.

Dutch Mantell is not a fan of the recently drafted tag team on WWE SmackDown

Pretty Deadly made their main roster debut on a recent episode of the blue brand and picked up a victory over Ridge Holland and Butch of The Brawling Brutes.

Kit Wilson and Elton Prince have very distinct characters in Pretty Deadly, and they may not be for everyone. However, the young duo has become quite popular amongst NXT fans, and now they have the chance to replicate that success on SmackDown, but Dutch Mantell believes they are off to a shaky start.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk show, Dutch suggested Pretty Deadly might be too cute for their own good.

"My jury is out on this team. What is it? Pretty Deadly? My jury is out on those guys because I think they could be too cute for their own good. Did they get over in NXT?" [39:10 to 39:30]

The tag team division is wide open following this year's WWE Draft. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are the reigning Undisputed Tag Team Champions but have a huge task ahead of them as they are set to defend against The Bloodline's Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa this Saturday at Night of Champions. It will be interesting to see if Pretty Deadly can put themselves in a position to challenge for the titles by the end of the year.
