WWE Creative made the same mistake with current top RAW Superstar as with Ronda Rousey, says veteran

WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff believes the creative team miscast Drew McIntyre as they did with Ronda Rousey.

After nearly three years of being a babyface, The Scottish Warrior turned heel by attacking Jey Uso on Monday Night RAW last week. McIntyre also joined forces with The Judgment Day to become part of their team in the WarGames match at Survivor Series.

Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff praised McIntyre's heel turn and claimed he was miscast as a babyface by WWE. The former RAW General Manager pointed out that it was the same mistake creative made with Ronda Rousey.

"I've always been a fan of Drew's. His initial run with WWE and then he was let go and I was on a couple independent shows with him over in the UK. Just a classy guy and a great performer. But perhaps, like Ronda Rousey previously in WWE, he may not have been cast in the best role as a babyface. And I'm anxious to see what he's capable of as a heel. And let's be honest, as much as I respect him and like I like him, he never really connected as that babyface champion. He had some things against him all his Covid era," he said.

The Hall of Famer added:

"The crowd reaction to kinda help put you up over the top and give you the credibility that a champion should have and that, you know, that's just bad timing. But I'm looking forward to seeing him in that heel role because he's a phenomenal performer and he's got the right look, he's got the voice, he's physical, he can perform in the ring. So, maybe a fresh paint of coat will do him justice." [From 24:14 to 25:26]

Eric Bischoff says Ronda Rousey was overrated in WWE

During the same episode of 83 Weeks, Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff commented on Ronda Rousey's appearance on ROH following her departure from the Stamford-based company.

The former RAW General Manager claimed she is overrated in professional wrestling, disclosing that she never clicked for him in WWE.

"I think in terms of the professional wrestling industry, she's overrated. An obviously very accomplished mixed martial artist, very accomplished at judo, phenomenal athlete, but she never clicked for me in WWE, despite a push from the Gods," he said. [H/T: BodySlam.net]
