WWE fan chants "Vince McMahon" after Michael Cole mistake ahead of SummerSlam
A WWE fan chanted for Vince McMahon after Michael Cole made a mistake during the SummerSlam Kickoff Show today. WWE SummerSlam will air live tomorrow night from Cleveland, Ohio.
Michael Cole opened the Kickoff Show for the premium live event today and introduced his RAW commentary partner, Pat McAfee. The former NFL star got a great reaction from the crowd, but a comment from Cole also brought out a "Vince McMahon" chant from a member of the WWE Universe.
Cole stated that McAfee was undefeated at The Show of Shows, but in reality, he lost an impromptu match against Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 38.
Vince McMahon resigned from the promotion earlier this year due to a lawsuit filed by former employee, Janel Grant. Triple H has taken over creative responsibilities as the promotion's Chief Content Officer and creative head and the company has been incredibly successful under his guidance.
WWE legend reacts to Vince McMahon's departure from the company
Wrestling veteran, Mark Henry recently shared his thoughts on Vince McMahon's resignation from the company due to the allegations made by Janel Grant.
The World's Strongest Man recently departed All Elite Wrestling after spending three years with the promotion. In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Bill Apter last month, Henry noted that nothing was permanent in the wrestling industry. He added that it was the right time for McMahon to step away and remove himself from the business.
"I believe that there's seasons for everything and eventually we're all gonna be away from the business one way or the other. I mean, either by passing away or just the fact you retire or you get fired or you amicably separate or whatever it is, there's always gonna be an exodus, and I think it was time for there to be that exodus," said Henry. There have been rumors in recent weeks regarding Vince's son, Shane McMahon, possibly heading to All Elite Wrestling. A photo of Shane and Tony Khan meeting at an airport in Arlington was leaked on the internet earlier this week. Former WWE star Sasha Banks, now known as Mercedes Moné in AEW, claimed that she was the one who took the photograph that eventually went viral on social media.
