WWE feels 27-year-old top superstar is their next Brock Lesnar, says Freddie Prinze Jr.

WWE has been investing in several rising talents over the past few years. Freddie Prinze Jr., a former writer for World Wrestling Entertainment, recently claimed that the company views a 27-year-old RAW star as their next Brock Lesnar.

Bron Breakker had a three-year run on NXT, where he held the NXT Championship twice before making his main roster debut earlier this year. While he initially joined SmackDown, the second-generation superstar was later drafted to Monday Night RAW. He has since won the Intercontinental Championship twice. He is currently in his second reign after defeating Jey Uso on the October 21 episode of the red brand.

Speaking on his Wrestling with Freddie podcast, Prinze Jr. discussed Breakker's future. Although he pointed out that the powerhouse needed to improve on the mic, he claimed that could happen if he was given another year. Meanwhile, he stated that he knew that WWE felt like the young star would be their next Brock Lesnar:

"I want him [Bron Breakker] to be ready for Netflix because I know WWE feels like he's gonna be their next sort of Brock Lesnar, big-time star. I don't know if he'll be ready to be the lead of that show by January. But I think if you give him another year, you'll see leaps and bounds as far as improvement on the mic," he said.

Wrestling veteran wants Bron Breakker to face WWE SmackDown star

Bron Breakker recently found himself face-to-face with The Bloodline's Jacob Fatu during his match with Jey Uso. Wrestling veteran Jim Cornette addressed the face-off on an episode of his Drive-Thru podcast.

Cornette pointed out that a square-off against Fatu would make the Intercontinental Champion a bigger babyface. He added that the company could get a "huge deal" out of that potential fight:

"They've got so many matches that they don't even need to have yet, but people will go ape sh*t over them. It's insane. But yeah, can you imagine Bron Breakker?...He's already too good not to likeā€”the fans are already barking for him and giving him his sh*t, but he's still a badass, and that's what's going to make him an even bigger babyface eventually. Against Jacob Fatu, with the proper build, they could get a fu**ing huge deal out of that," he said.

Breakker last competed on Main Event in Saudi Arabia. He defeated Otis in a one-on-one match. It would be interesting to see what's next for the rising star in WWE.
