WWE files new trademark for former tag team champions
WWE has recently filed a trademark on the name of a popular tag team. The Stamford-based company and Cody Rhodes recently got into legal trouble over "The American Nightmare" trademark.
The Stamford-based company seemingly does not want Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn's tag team to face similar issues. The duo recently lost the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship to Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill at Bash in Berlin. The Scotts had won the titles earlier this year at Clash at the Castle: Scotland.
WWE has filed a trademark for "Unholy Union," the team name for Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn. The wrestling promotion applied for the trademark on September 6. At the time of writing the application has been accepted by the office, but has yet to be assigned to an examiner.
WWE veteran shares his personal opinion about Unholy Union
Despite them recently winning the Women's Tag Team Championship, Dawn and Fyre have had an inconsistent run on the main roster. Wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell recently shared his honest take on the duo.
Speaking on a recent edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk, Mantell claimed that Alba Fyra and Isla Dawn were missing something. He added it had nothing to do with their run in NXT as he had not witnessed it. The former manager pointed out that the Scottish duo needs to get over on the main roster as well.
"They are missing something. Like personality [...] It's not what they did in NXT cause I didn't see that. A lot of people don't watch that, I'm sure. But watching them, they've got to get over now. They are not in NXT. They're in WWE. So that's your field of play. So they need to get over," he said. [From 30:55 onwards]

Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn defeated Damage CTRL's IYO SKY and Dakota Kai on last week's edition of Monday Night RAW to become the number one contenders for the Women's Tag Team Championship.
It remains to be seen if Unholy Union will defeat the team of Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair to recapture the titles on the upcoming edition of the red brand's show.
