WWE finally corrects major criticism from Bayley's past
WWE recently put Bayley in a promotional material to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. One of the criticisms the company faced during The Role Model's reign as the WWE Women's Champion was that she was not booked well, and they failed to elevate her status.
Bayley won the 2024 Royal Rumble to earn a shot at Iyo Sky's championship at WrestleMania 40. Her quest for the title was told in a near-perfect way, but it went all downhill from there. She defended the championship on WWE television five times in four months and was barely advertised by the company.
In a recent post on her Instagram account, the former WWE Women's Champion shared an image showing herself alongside Hall of Famers Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio. They are the three main stars featured on the WWE Network's interface for Hispanic Heritage Month.
For those who don't know, Bayley was born and raised in a Mexican-American family in San Jose, California. She is of Mexican descent but didn't use it as part of her gimmick in WWE.
The 35-year-old superstar has done it all in the biggest wrestling company in the world. However, it would have been great for fans to see her get a respectable title reign after winning the WWE Women's Championship at WrestleMania 40.
Bayley is set to participate in a high-stakes match on WWE SmackDown
Tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California, will feature a high-stakes tag team match. Bayley is set to team up with Naomi to take on WWE Women's Champion Nia Jax and Ms. Money in the Bank Tiffany Stratton.
There is a complicated stipulation for the match. If the babyfaces win, the one getting the pinfall gets a title match against Jax at WWE Bad Blood. But if the heels are victorious, the one who gets pinned will have to leave SmackDown for good.
The story between all the stars involved became more interesting due to the stipulation. The Role Model wanted a rematch, while Naomi was looking for her first big break since returning at the Royal Rumble. Meanwhile, Stratton has the MITB briefcase, so she could cash in on Jax to win the WWE Women's Championship.
