WWE had fumbled with Chad Gable, says 55-year-old

Chad Gable has moved on from one stable to the next. He now leads the Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile on Monday nights. Together, they established a new faction, 'American Made,' after Gable was left alone to fend off The Wyatt Sicks.

As of this writing, it is unclear whether WWE has moved on from this storyline, as Uncle Howdy picked up a huge win over Chad Gable a few weeks ago, and the rest of the group has also gone over American Made already. WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle recently appeared on K&S WrestleFest, where he heaped praise on Gable for his recent work.

Angle noted how WWE had "dropped the ball" with Chad Gable in the past, but things had changed for the better. He loves how fans use "You s**k" chants at the 38-year-old, much like when they used to direct them at him in the past. However, the veteran clarified that Gable was no longer the "next up-and-coming Kurt Angle," and that he had finally become his own man.

"I felt like they dropped the ball with him for a while. I know he's a little bit undersized, but he's actually, he can go with anybody. [...] Chad, I love the stuff he's doing right now. I love the fans chanting 'You S**k!' to him. I'm glad he found a niche that's good for him. But I also believe he's not the next up-and-coming Kurt Angle. I think he's Chad Gable, and he's proved himself," he said. [H/T: Wrestling Inc.]

In 2024, the tag team specialist made several attempts to win his first singles title but failed at every hurdle. It remains to be seen if he will manage to get there in the not-too-distant future.

Chad Gable reflects on wrestling WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Chad Gable reflected on his match against Kurt Angle before the Hall of Famer officially retired from in-ring competition. Despite Angle not being in the best shape of his career at the time, Gable was grateful he got to step inside the squared circle opposite one of his idols.

He revealed to Van Vliet that he had manifested for it to come true when he was a kid, having met the legendary wrestler during a signing over two decades ago.

"We're up the road from Mall of America a few miles and I met Kurt there when I was 13 or 14 and he signed my 'It's True' VHS tape that came out from WWF back then. [...] Met Kurt, shook his hand, and I said, 'Someday I'm going to be in WWE and I'm going to wrestle you.' That is a true story," he recalled.

During the K&S WrestleFest appearance, Kurt Angle also commented on facing Chad Gable. He feels their five-minute encounter was not "really a match," but he was still proud of Gable. Meanwhile, the latter's former tag team partner Otis recently expressed a desire to fight him at WrestleMania.
